So. Basically, we had an amazing year this year, and that's putting it lightly. We have a lot to live up to next year, but I know we can do it! Here are some of the events we can do something for:
National Coming Out Day, October 11
Ally Week, October
Transgender Day of Remembrance, November 20
Day of Silence, April 25
Pride Month, June
I'm sure there must be more, but it's kind of hard to find them...

Let's start with some websites!
Here's a good one for LGBT news:
www.advocate.com
And this is a good one for LGBTQ teens (and allies too I guess) that need support.
www.oasisjournals.com
Then:
www.glsen.org
www.dayofsilence.org
www.hrc.org
www.glnh.org
Hotlines (sorry, couldn't find Japanese ones):
USA: The Trevor Helpline: 1-866-4-U-TREVOR
Rainbow Youth Hotline 1-877-LGBT-YTH
There are so many more! Check this link for a lot:

It has begun.
Today is the birth (what a gross cliche) of a blog for the ASIJ GSSA, inspired by seeing the decrepit, almost non-existent, state of the GSSA's former website. Because I'm not tech-savvy enough to actually figure out how to make a website, I figured a free blog would do the trick until someone who actually has some skills wants to make a real site. :-D.
Hopefully the blog will be a place to check for news about what's going on at school with the GSSA, a place to check for news about what's going on in the LGBT community, and a place to, uh, have fun?!
Have a good summer everyone. Stay fabulous!
